Samaritan™ for Surgery Procedures

Samaritan is an advanced wound sealant designed to enhance surgical site management before, during, and after procedures. When applied intraoperatively, it conforms precisely to the contours of incisions, resection sites, and exposed tissue, forming a clear, sterile barrier that supports hemostasis and protects against contamination. Its polymer structure allows it to reach into micro-crevices that sutures and staples may leave exposed.

Unlike traditional dressings or hemostatic pads, Samaritan does not adhere to healthy tissue, allowing for atraumatic removal without disrupting surgical repair or regenerating tissue. It minimizes the risk of post-operative bleeding, infection, and foreign-body reaction, making it particularly valuable in complex or high-risk procedures. Samaritan also functions as a gentle debriding agent, supporting cleaner wound beds during revision or delayed closures.

For added diagnostic value, Samaritan can be infused with contrast agents such as barium, enabling post-operative imaging to assess wound integrity, track fluid accumulation, or visualize surgical margins under X-ray, CT, or ultrasound. This makes it a versatile tool in modern surgical care, combining wound protection, visibility, and biocompatibility in one step.
